کتاب صوتی تئوری انتخاب یا همان کتاب صوتی نظریه انتخاب نوشته ویلیام گلاسر به رویکرد روانشناسی و مثبت_گرایی و واقعیت_درمانی در گستره ی روانپزشکی، روانشناسی و علوم رفتاری می پردازد
کتاب تئوری انتخاب یک تئوری مبتنی بر روانشناسی کنترل درونی است که معتقد است گذشته ها بر زندگی کنونی ما اثر شگرفی داشته است ولی تعیین کننده رفتار کنونی ما نیست و میزان مسئولیت پذیری و به رسمیت شناختن و احترام به واقعیت موجود و شیوه ای که برای ارضای نیازهایمان با توجه به دو عامل انتخاب است که رفتار کنونی ما را تعیین میکند…
ویلیام گلاسر در رابطه با کتاب خود چنین میگوید :
این کتاب در رابطه با اهمیت رابطه خوب است . در این کتاب میخواهم بگویم بجز بیماری ، فقر ، کهنسالی و سایر مشکلات مهم بشری مثل خشونت ، بزهکاری ، بدرفتاری با کودکان ، بدرفتاری با همسر ، اعتیاد به الکل و مواد مخدر و روابط جنسی پیش از موعد و عاری از عشق و ناراحتی های هیجانی معلول روابط غیر رضایت بخش است، کل کتاب بیان این قضیه است و راه بهتر کنار آمدن با یکدیگر را نشان میدهد .
من روی چهار نوع رابطه که همگی باید بهبود یابند تمرکز میکنم ، این چهار رابطه عبارتند از : رابطه زن و شوهر ، رابطه والدین و فرزندان ، رابطه معلم و شاگرد و رابطه رابطه مدیر و کارمند . به نظر من اگر این روابط را بهبود نبخشیم در کاهش مشکلات اشاره شده توفیق چندانی نخواهیم داشت . ابتدا چنین ادعایی را ادعایی گستاخانه میدیدم ولی پیش از اینکه کتاب حاظر زیر چاپ برود به تحقیقات جدیدی دست یافتم که نظرم را مبنی بر اینکه نو جوانان برای پرهیز از رفتارهای خود مخرب ، به روابط والد و معلم و شاگردی خوب احتیاج دارند .
